Google's mission is to organize the world's information, and our growing Content Partnerships team helps to provide access to all of the world's content. Through content partnerships and programs, we support Google.com, YouTube, Google Book Search, Google Maps and Google Earth and over 20 Google products/properties around the world. The breadth and scope of content we acquire almost defies description – it includes video, books, publications, mapping data, satellite and aerial imagery, business addresses, restaurant reviews, retail product inventories, real estate listings and government data.
The role: Strategic Partner Manager, Print Content Specialist
The Strategic Partner Manager role provides an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to apply and hone business skills (e.g. business development, marketing, strategy, and analytics) and be exposed to multiple functional disciplines (e.g. product management, engineering, legal, operations). You will be in charge of managing all post-sales partner activities across all Print Content products (Books, News, Scholar etc. ) and representing Google's user, product, and program interests to the partner. Responsibilities include launching new partnerships, forecasting and reporting revenue and other key metrics, tracking actual progress toward forecasts, driving new business opportunities, and ensuring prompt and proper resolution of business and technical issues with the partner.
Responsibilities:
Maintain strong direct relationships with strategic Print Content partners in EMEA.
Drive new partnerships, selling new business opportunities such as the Google Books monetization to existing partners and ensuring prompt and proper resolution of business issues raised by partners.
Define and implement scalable business practices for content acquisition and partner management.
Play central role in helping team improve existing content metrics and management "business infrastructure" tools.
Research and analysis of key EMEA markets to facilitate prioritization. Maintain deep understanding of Google's product roadmap.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred with a strong academic record. MBA or JD a plus.
Strong partner management or business development experience including solid history of relationship growth successes.
Excellent partner communication skills and presentation abilities, including comfort in front of a large audience.
Project management experience and ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects and competing priorities.
Ability to effectively think strategically and influence cross-functional teams, such as technical service, product development, and engineering teams to resolve problems and to provide input into new features and products.
Detailed knowledge of the book publishing and newspaper industries a plus.
Fluency in Italian/Spanish or German/Russian required.
